Santa Rosa Beach, FL (January 6, 2015) – Ken Hendricks, United Way Board of Directors president, and MH Carr, Walton Education Foundation Board of Directors president, and Michelle Doggett, Walton Education Foundation executive director, will present Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa with a token of appreciation for their financial contributions of nearly $12,000 to United Way, and in turn, the partner agency Walton Education Foundation.

The United Way of Okaloosa and Walton Counties began its crusade to make a difference in 1957. By raising more than one MILLION dollars a year from the community, United Way is able to give back to agency partners including Walton Education Foundation.

The mission of Walton Education Foundation is to serve the educational community of Walton County by mobilizing support and resources through alliances, grants, and fundraising events. Some of their major efforts include Kidz Closet which provides proper school clothing to students in need, Classroom Mini-Grants which funds special projects teachers incorporate in their classrooms to enhance student learning, and Take Stock in Children which offers low-income youth college scholarships, caring volunteer mentors and hope for a better life.
