Fort Walton Beach, FL – United Way of Okaloosa and Walton Counties will transport you back in time on January 31st during “A Night in the 40’s” – a dance, dinner and silent auction fundraiser to benefit the United Way and 42 local agencies. The evening begins at 6:30pm at the Emerald Coast Convention Center.

Commemorate the 1940s era with an evening of music and dancing to the live Big Band tunes from DownBeat, an 18-piece jazz orchestra and be entertained by the dance competition with local celebrity dancers partnered with a Fred Astaire professional. “We encourage you to ‘dress to impress’ in your best 40’s style, but that’s optional. We just want you to participate and experience this blast from the past,” stated Ronda Davenport, United Way VP of Campaign & Marketing.

The United Way’s website, www.united-way.org has more information about the event. Vote for your favorite celebrity dancer as well as purchase tickets on-line. Individual tickets are $100 or a table for 10 is $900.
