Women United

Who we are:
Women United is a community of passionate women dedicated to making a difference. Together, we work to uplift, empower, and ensure that mental health resources and education are accessible to women and girls in Okaloosa and Walton counties.

Women United is open to those who generously contribute a combined household gift of $500 or more annually in unrestricted funding to United Way Emerald Coast. That’s just $42 a month to join this circle of changemakers and help us continue this important work.

A few things we are proud of:

• Crisis Kits for school counselors - In partnership with the Okaloosa and Walton County School Districts, we’re equipping school counselors with the essential tools and resources they need to respond to crises of any size. We’re proud that every Title I school in Walton County now has a kit on campus! But our work isn’t finished—19 more kits are needed to ensure every Title I school in Okaloosa County is fully prepared.
   
• Courageous Conversations - We’ve hosted a five-part series called Courageous Conversations, bringing together over 127 women to address mental health stigmas and stereotypes. This impactful series featured a variety of speakers, including a Walton Panel, TNBT Panel, an 850 Foodie Panel, and a panel lead by Destin City Council Member Teresa Hebert.
   
• EmpowHER Mental Health Workshops - Women United hosted four free EmpowHER seminars, focusing on mental health education for young women. Participants, ages 11-18, shared positive feedback, with 85% reporting improvements in self-worth, self-esteem, confidence, and overall mental well-being.
