It’s that time of year again when we ask local businesses to participate in the Campaign Ambassador Program. The success of the annual campaign depends on the support we receive from local businesses in Okaloosa and Walton Counties. The Campaign Ambassador Program is just that – a loan of an executive (or multiple executives) from your organization for an intensive period from July 12 – December 12. Local businesses and organizations loan their best and brightest to United Way Emerald Coast. These “Campaign Ambassadors” play a crucial role in developing and implementing fundraising initiatives in a wide variety of situations during the annual United Way Campaign. Their participation helps keep fundraising costs low, leading to increased investments in the lives of people who need services.
Campaign Ambassadors work with other high-energy people from across the community — business leaders, agency personnel, civic and government leaders and volunteers — to run effective, well-organized workplace campaigns and to educate others how United Way is improving lives in our community.
The Campaign Ambassador program is designed to give dynamic, energetic employees of local businesses the opportunity to expand their skill sets and make new contacts, while making a positive impact on their community.

What is my role in the Campaign as a Campaign Ambassador?
You will be the primary liaison with corporate, group and individual accounts to plan and implement a giving program in connection with the United Way campaign. You will work with campaign volunteers and account executives as well as professional staff to achieve their annual goal. You will conduct employee presentations to illustrate the need for continued support for the social services in our community and encourage pledges for the upcoming calendar year.
The single most significant feature of employee campaigns is the availability of payroll giving, or giving through payroll deduction. This results in donations that are four to seven times greater than one-time cash gifts. This also makes it easier for the employee to give.
