Coats for Kids

The mission of Coats for Kids is to ensure that every child who needs a winter coat receives one.

How You Can Help

Donate a new coat or a gently-used, clean coat to one of the dozens of drop-off locations within Okaloosa and Walton Counties. Sponsor a local coat drive by teaming with community organization. Contribute either dollars or coats to COATS FOR KIDS at Christmas.

Please SHARE THE WARMTH & Help Us Provide a Warmer 2017 Holiday Season for many children within our community!  If you would like to participate in this wonderful event, please drop-off new coats or gently-used clean coats at one of the following DROP-OFF LOCATIONS now until December 5, 2017

What Sizes of Coats

Coat sizes range from newborn to extra large with some plus sizes generally available.

Our delivery of coats is done through schools, county or local social service agencies, churches, synagogues, and through other non-profit organizations that work with children. As coats are received from the cleaners these partners are notified to come select coats for the children they service. Last year we distributed over 1,800 coats to many families throughout the community and schools in Okaloosa & Walton counties. This was made possible by the local banks, businesses and people like you who supported this project.

Bangkok Cleaners, Destin Cleaners and ResortQuest Laundry provide all of the cleaning services every year. The boxes used for collecting at each drop-off location are provided by A & A Transfer and Storage.

Although we appreciate all donations, we can ONLY accept coats and no other used clothing. Please distribute your other used clothing at Salvation Army, Harvest House, Waterfront Mission, etc.

For more information, please contact the United Way at 850-243-0315.
