
Lavona joined United Way Emerald Coast in August 2022. Prior to joining United Way Emerald Coast, she served in the Air Force, worked as a substitute teacher and a youth soccer coach for children 4-5 years old. Lavona graduated from the University of Maryland Global Campus in December 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and always had a love for serving her community. As the Program Coordinator for the Impact Department, she works with volunteers and nonprofit partners. She also oversees Group Volunteerism, Kit Builds, and Ride United. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, volunteering at her son’s school, and exploring the area.
