The United Way’s “Coats for Kids at Christmas…Share the Warmth” is well on its way collecting coats for the annual community coat drive. Thanks to our partners who make this needed event happen: A & A Transfer & Storage, Bangkok Cleaners, Destin Cleaners and ResortQuest.

Last year we distributed over 2,000 coats to many families throughout the community and schools in Okaloosa & Walton counties.  The local banks, businesses and people like you made the annual coat drive a success.  So please, “Help Us Provide a Warmer 2016 Holiday Season” for many children within our community, by participating in this wonderful event this year!

Here’s how you can help: just drop-off new coats or cleaned, gently used coats from now ‘til December 5th at the following locations: Bank of America, Bangkok Cleaners, BBVA Compass Banks, Beach Community Banks, Boeing Company, Bounce Party Play Zone @ Santa Rosa Mall, CCB Community Banks, CHELCO, Coastal Bank and Trusts, Destin Cleaners, Eglin Federal Credit Unions, First City Bank, Ft Walton Beach Medical Center, Gulf Power, Habitat ReStores (Crestview & FWB),  Northwest Florida State College, Okaloosa School District Office, Okaloosa Sheriff’s Chaplains, all Publix’s in Ft Walton Beach, Publix-Crestview, Publix-Destin, Publix-Grand Blvd, Publix-Niceville, Publix-South Walton, Publix-Watercolor, Regions Banks, Santa Rosa Mall,The Arc of the Emerald Coast, Trustmark Banks, and Twin Cities Hospital.

Harry LeBoeuf, Project Chairman for the Crestview Knights of Columbus, Council 7968, donated 50 new coats to kick off this year’s Coats for Kids at Christmas. The coats came in an assortment of sizes and colors for boys and girls.

Scheduled volunteers will pick-up and deliver donated coats to Bangkok Cleaners or Destin Cleaners for cleaning.  Participating United Way Agencies will distribute the coats to children who are in need of a coat, at no cost to the family.

Please note:  Although we appreciate all donations, we can ONLY accept coats & no other used clothing.
