The United Way of Okaloosa and Walton Counties has joined as part of the Walton County Long Term Recovery team. They join together with faith based organizations, civic organizations, non-profit organizations, for profit organizations, businesses and individuals to assist those not able to provide basic repair needs suffered in times of disaster. The organization acts as a central gathering and dispatch to organize all potential means of aid to neighbors through the Long Term Recovery Organization (LTRO).
LTRO helps people in their own recovery after a disaster strikes by providing long-term case management needed to stabilize and create a self-sufficient environment. We give a hand up, not a hand out.
