In today’s complex world, there’s no one way or right way to tackle the challenges we face. Instead, it takes all of us working collectively, in all kinds of different ways, to get the job done. Through research and planning, community engagement, investments in programs and initiatives, public policy advocacy and public awareness activities, we are creating real and measurable changes in health, education, and financial stability.
We improve Okaloosa and Walton counties by focusing our attention and by supporting programs in three categories for maximum impact. Why health, education, and financial stability? Because when everyone has these, they thrive and our community thrives.
We connect people, resources, and ideas to:
Health : empower every member of our community to live a healthier life.
Education: help children, teens, and adults achieve their full potential through quality educational programs.
Financial Stability: ensure neighbors have the ability to meet their basic needs and find their paths to financial independence.
This year, we awarded $450,000 to 28 programs providing the individuals in our community with the basic needs and skills necessary to become self-sustaining:
- Health: Bridgeway Center, One Hopeful Place, Crossroads Center, Destin Football Club, Emerald Coast Children's Advocacy Center, Healing Hoof Steps, Mental Health Association, Okaloosa County Council on Aging, Point Washington Medical Clinic, United for a Good Cause, United Methodist Children's Home
- Education: AMIKids of the Emerald Coast, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida, Boys and Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast, Emerald Coast Science Center
