Empowered Women Empower Women & Girls!

Who We Are
Women United is a community of passionate women dedicated to making a difference. Together, the ladies of Women United work to uplift, empower, and ensure that mental health resources and education are accessible to women and girls in Okaloosa and Walton counties.

What We Do
Real change begins when mental health becomes a normal part of everyday conversation. When women and girls have a safe space to share their experiences, ask for help, and feel supported, everything shifts. One caring relationship can reshape the trajectory of someone’s life — and Women United is devoted to creating those meaningful connections.

Women United Events & Initiatives
Women United comes together through meaningful, empowering experiences that support mental health, build community, and create opportunities for women and girls to thrive. Whether it’s hands-on projects that equip school counselors with crisis-response tools, workshops that lift up young women, intentional spaces that spark honest conversations, or our signature Brunch & Bubbly fundraiser supporting local mental health programs, there’s always a way to show up and make a meaningful difference.

Crisis Kits
Through a partnership with the Okaloosa and Walton County School Districts, school counselors are being equipped with the essential tools and resources they need to respond to crises of any size. Every Title I school in Walton County now has a kit on campus, and efforts continue to complete the remaining 19 kits needed for Okaloosa County.

Courageous Conversations
Now five sessions in — and with more planned — the Courageous Conversations series has brought together more than 140 women to openly address the stigmas and stereotypes surrounding mental health. Each gathering creates room for honest dialogue, breaks down barriers to seeking support, and encourages a more compassionate understanding of mental health in our community. Past speakers include the Walton Panel, TNBT Panel, 850 Foodie Panel, Destin City Council Member Teresa Hebert, and local business owner Tarra Wixom.

Now six seminars strong, EmpowHER provides free mental health education and support for young women ages 10–18. The impact is undeniable, 85 percent of participants reported improvements in self-worth, confidence, self-esteem, and overall well-being. Each session offers a supportive space for girls to learn, connect, and feel empowered as they navigate adolescence.
